PROPOSED CHANGES
In July 2008, the Corporate Governance Committee released proposed changes to the Belgian Corporate Governance Code published in 2004 ("Code 2004"). These proposed changes were submitted to a public consultation from 17 July until 22 September 2008.
The proposed changes included in the draft version of the Code 2009 were the result of analysing new European and Belgian regulations impacting corporate governance, changes in corporate governance codes and good practices in other EU countries and comments made during the public consultation carried out by the Committee in 2007.
